For my PLN, or personal learning network, I chose Twitter. Twitter is my favorite social media out there and have always been active on it for personal use, and now for educational and professional use! Twitter is a great platform for connection with others and sharing ideas, and it really is what you make it.
My professional twitter profile is simple, but contains all of the essentials. It includes the University I am attending, my major, my program, location, and how long I have been active for.
As a student and scholar, if I am being honest, it has played a minor role in my life. When I took the introduction course to Interdisciplinary studies, we had to make a twitter and actively used it for class. I followed people in the fields that I was interested in and shared out some of my work, but I never used it super actively. I think that it is an awesome outlet for people to connect and share ideas and having a professional presence on twitter will aid me to staying up to date on current events and scholars in my field.
My latest post, and one of my final posts as a college student here at Plymouth State is sharing my ePort post and has a sentimental tone. Moving forward, I will continue to build my twitter in a more professional sense and use it to my advantage.
